Economic Development, Heritage Tourism, I see it happening in my work too. I'm
now planning and promoting a 3-5 day preservation seminar in Verdigre,
Nebraska (population 520) to support their heritage tourism program. If it is
happening in rural Nebraska it is happening everywhere. Many state economic
authorities are now tracking heritage tourism and other heritage related
development. This is all a part of why and how historic preservation has
become a part of the American Mainstream in the past 5-8 years.
