With a 12 year gap, how long would the newly coated portions take to catch
up? Would that have to wait until the first cleaning? On a related topic, I
wonder if the nature of airborne grime has remained constant in this era of
cleaner burning vehicles and smokestack scrubbers on coal fired power
plants.

Mike Edison wrote "They opted to apply the original color
and let it "catch up", a decision
that surprises me, because it doesn't optimize appearance on
day one, and I
have come to expect that customers demand immediate rather
than delayed
gratification in an industry that all too often rejects
colors even before
                they are dry."
