The volume of foreign language spam is steadily increasing.  I've gotten
over 3,800 of them since the first of the year.  That's an average of more
than ten a day.

The example you provided appears to be Japanese, but Chinese and Korean
ones are more prevalent.

Since it costs hardly anything to stuff every e-mailbox in the world,
there's no reason for the spammers to bother worrying about hitting people
outside the target audience.

Not a cry for help -- more likely they want to sell you vinyl siding or
penis enlargement pills or something.

I was charmed the first time I received spam in Italian, or Polish, or
something, but it palls pretty quickly.
