I thought about that, and I used a semi gloss poly that my
finishes guy recommended....
again, it was a graham product, and we never had any problem with
it being slick...

my tenant did not wax the floors... we recommended that they use
a mild cleaner,
specifically murphy's oil soap which I like, since it isn't
detergent harsh...
but they told me they usually just wiped up the floor with warm
water
with a little bit of pine-sol added for the smell, mostly ;)
(he said it made him nostalgic for the military housing they'd
lived in for the last
15 years ;) )

tbey did have to put those little rubber mesh thingies under
their area rugs
to get the rugs to stay put, but never reported having anything
else
slip-slidin' away ;)

p.s. when we redid the 6 x 8 area by the door, I scuffed it up
a little
by hand with some medium sandpaper on a block,
paying attention to a couple of scrapes, and then wiped it down
with mineral spirits on an old linen dishtowel....
and then put one coat on, with the edges sort of feathered into
the existing areas...
it looked a little glossier than the rest of the floor for about
a week, but then
quickly just sort of started to match the rest in texture...
it's been a year and a half, maybe closer to two now, and it
still looks pretty good...
