Pam, I know what you mean about the violets, even so I hated to pull them
up as they are so pretty. I comprmised and left a border of them around
the vegetable garden. Ruth

We just transplanted a rose that we thought was a miniature one that we
thought had died in the pot next to the stone patio, and that had some
brush dumped on it last year. Turns out instead that it was a wild rose
that was growing out of the bottom of the patio, where the chipmunk likes
to play. Figured since I had to extricate it from the area anyway, might
as well use it to fill another bare spot in front of the house. I'm
getting more plants out of the yard to put there, like English daisy and
black-eyed susans. I put my foot down on the violets though - we've taken
to pulling them like weeds!
