Ralph, This ain't ornamental, it's totally functional stuff. My great
grandfathers were farmers turned carpenter they didn't do ornamental. I
have heard, however, that my great grandfather did do some work on the
construction of Nalauka, Rudyard Kipling's house. There's not much
ornamentation on that house either.

I do see Rory at the post office from time to time and his son and mine
took a summer course in study skills together. I'll have to see if he
would stop in on his way to town some time and tell me what I have to do to
keep the plaster on the walls and replace what has already fallen off.

No, I didn't throw away any valuable old tools, even if I didn't know what
they were. If you like OLD tools come look through the drawers in Dad's
china cabinet. Or the garage, if you can get in. Ruth

Ruth,

You have one of the country's best ornamental plasterers in your own back
yard: Rory Brennan of Putney, who sometimes works with David Flaharty who
has done APT and PIN presentations.

I don't imagine that the B&B offer will interest him, but send him an email
([log in to unmask]) and see if he's interested in whatever it is that you
need. Give him my best, while you're at it.

Ralph

PS--Tell me you didn't throw away any $7 antique screwdrivers in the course
of moving.
