Ralph, Thanks for the info. I'm sure that will add greatly to son's
wealth of knowledge. Who knows, that might be a question on some college
entrance exam.

There are two movies I have never been able to watch that everyone else
seems to like--"The Wizzard of Oz" and "Fiddler on the Roof." I have
watched about 5 min of each and just can't sit there and watch. In fact I
got "Fiddler" so confused I once remarked to someone talking about what a
wonder picture it was, "I just can't seem to get interested in a movie of a
fat, old Greek dancing around." This person just looked at me funny as
some else explained that he wasn't Greek. Anyway, it's all Greek to me.
Besides, who would name their kid Zero? Ruth of the Frozen North where
school was canceled for today due to cold.

Yes, Ruth, Broadway shows have matinees. They are (usually, if not only)
on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

As for the relative merits of seeing theater and sports live vs. on TV, I'm
with you, despite my training as a Thespian accustomed to performing the
act before a paying audience. On the other hand, I think I will always
regret not having seen Zero Mostel in Fiddler on the Roof when I first came
to NY in 1976-77. On the other other hand, I do not count myself lucky to
have seen The Producers on Broadway; the movie is 1000 times better.
