The window is dead. Dead, dead, dead. Forget the thermopane. Get single glaze and put a storm over it. Virtually the same energy performance, and it'll last and last and last (until Peanut or you hit a baseball through it).

They call them replacement windows for a reason...put one in, expect to replace it.
