Here in Sydney, the AWA building built in the 1920s had a steel spire atop a
16 storey brick clad office building. It was originally a functional
antenna structure (these days overshadowed by 40-50 storey office towers).
The building is heritage listed, and the spire is considered to have a high
degree of significance. About 5 years ago, the spire was lifted off the
building, the steelwork stripped back, repaired and repainted, and then
replaced atop the building.

Is this what you are looking for?

Is anyone aware of any radio antennas that have received historic
designation?
