How about dirty jokes?

If I have double hung aluminium framed windows which
are significant fabric, and contribute to the
significance of the building, how much intervention is
 acceptable to stop any leaks?
As much as is required to stop the leaks. Leaks-->damage-->no building.

 1. None - the windows would have leaked at the time
of construction, and hence the leaking is significant.
Leakage leading to damage is NFG.
 2. Application of a sealant bead around the perimeter
of the sash to frame junction, thus preventing the
 operation of the sashes.
If the sash don't need to be operable, and if the sealant is reversible, why
not?

 3. Modification of the framing members by addition of
new beads containing gaskets to provide an internal
 air seal.
Sounds expensive. Also, would you lose original framing members in the course
of modifying them?

 4. Installation of a second line of glazing on the
inside of the windows to provide the primary
 waterproofing and air infiltration seal.
Maybe, but aren't you going to be creating new planes for formation of
condensation and changing appearance? What about reversibility?

 All insights would be appreciated.
Better luck next time. Or next respondent.
 All insights will be acknowledged.
If I had any, I might be interested.

Spilled any good rat poison in the ocean lately? If not, you may want to
speak to our Vice President. We'll let you have him, cheap.
