I am mightily touched and honored by this once in a thousand year
recognition. However, in the interest of full disclosure, I must note that
the jury foreman is just a touch biased in making this award, inasmuch as it
was he that extracted said poem from my otherwise limpid prose.

Nonetheless, I am moved to share with all y'all the hokku (initial verse) of
my epic haika (chain of verses) still being constructed relating the
experience of my home's rehabilitation:

Mr. Home Builder
(dream of your ideal home come true)

Money supplies sweat;
twenty seasons slowly change --
House slowly changes.

Of course, the right to remodel initial verses is reserved pending further
empirical research.
