My grandmother spent 20 years telling us she was going to be dead any
day now. We got tired of hearing about it and stopped calling her. Right
after the scene at the cemetary was one of the weirdist rump wakes I've
ever attended. Suddenly everyone was telling stories... I still complain
about being sent to the Rothchilds Department Store (the A&S in Brooklyn
reminds me of that venerable building) in order to return the underwear
that she did not care for. To this day if I purchase something I can
never return it even when it breaks right away.
