I had just read this message when I noticed the subject line of the next
message is, "Applesauce Yoghurt Delight."  Rather a contrast in subjects.

Am I correct to assume that this commode in Granny's Parlor was a piece of
furniture, as opposed to a plumbing fixture?  And do you have any sense of
whether it was USED in the parlor, or had just been relocated there by the
time you came (and went) along?  I can't imagine people engaging in such
activities in the parlor.

As for the Romans and sea sponges kept in salt water, I just hope they
hadn't invented hemorrhoids by then.  And that the Greeks had a different
system.
