It can get much more shameless than that!

In my defense, I didn't defend a specific product, only an approach, however
obvious it may be that I have the strongest possible convictions with regard
to what the most effective products would be.

It would be like responding to an inference in Ralph's comment that
architects don't know how to specify brownstone repair. I would have to
defend architects, in that case, as those same examples indicate that some
of them obviously do!
