Ilene, during a recent obsession with early American headstone motifs 
(kind of like malaria, a recurring condition - maybe I should've been 
a stone carver instead of woodcarver, I am crazy about cemeteries)  I 
found and bookmarked these websites devoted to historic carved gravestones

Both these sites are local and in-depth, & seem to know the original 
cavers' histories.
