Your ever-faithful correspondent is filing this HSP (Hurricane Storm
Report) from the edge of mayhem.

A good HSP always includes a context statement. The following excerpt
from WRAL-TVs Weather Center will provide same:

"Three years ago, Hurricane Fran caused about $6 billion in damage when it
blew ashore at Wilmington and raced along Interstate 40 into Raleigh."

This correspondent wonders why it is that these events that come round
about these parts always end up being referred to as the F-word storms....

Your correspondent expects to be on duty tomorrow driving his desk at his
regular station. It is anticipated that he will resume his chain sawyer's
duties 12 on, 12 off at 0600 hours on Friday 17 September after a
seemingly brief three-year hiatus. Current estimates of the duration of
this activity are uncertain; however, previous experience suggests that he
may be providing these special services pruning the rights-of-way of
Raleighwood for up to seven days as a member of one of 105 hastily
assembled crews assigned to the 105 leaf collection districts.

For those of you that have not been closely tracking this hair-raising
event, I attach a .jpeg of the latest surprising development for your
viewing pleasure, those of you that can view it.

That is all for now. More news as we are ready and able to transmit it.
