Presents an APT/DVC Symposium -

Scaffolding of Historic Buildings

This one-day symposium being sponsored by APT/DVC will address issues
relating to scaffolding used on historic building projects.
Participants in the symposium will have the opportunity, through case
study lectures to gain knowledge of scaffolding design, access, and
construction as it impacts the conservation of historic buildings and
monuments. The symposium will examine scaffolding systems and their
regulations, standards, and safety issues. Participants will examine
techniques for attachments to historic fabric and distributing
imposed scaffolding loads on historic structures. Experts will
present case studies of scaffolding solutions for both monumental and
small projects, and will discuss the risk of scaffold failures.
