Wow. Add perlite, which I think is pretty good high temp insulator, to 
your gypsum plaster and you've got a pretty good fire resistant system. 
Are there any info sources that rate traditional construction sytems for 
fire resistance?

Does lime provide a similar capacity to absorb energy?
