We actually had an opportunity to restore a chicken coop at Weir farm
national Historical Park, in Wilton, CT. As we could decipher, this
building was designed and built, although it's maintenance seemed
"whatever we got". The building was from the 1930's, although there is
an earlier c1870 chicken coop/ice house adjacent. The only reason these
buildings have or will be saved is by there juxtaposition with other
significant structures and surrounding landscape. Otherwise, they would
have melted into the ground. that's all i've seen, but if you need more,
let me know.
