IT was a great time...what's a little 'T' in everyone's coffee, anyway. Typos reveal our true selves, perhaps, but I was pretty discreet in my celebrations. My article on the Parthenon received a writing award for an article demonstrating technical excellence and innovation (Oliver Torrey Fuller, Honorable Mention). I had the double pleasure of seeing it in print and being accoladed by my peers. What an honor!

No dumpster dumping for most of us, and I wonder what that was all about...?

I loved the early morning walks along the Seawall, watching the sunrise out of the misty horizon, causing the offshore drilling rigs to disappear into daylight. There were lots of birds, early fisherman on the jettys, and few souls walking or running on the hardened beach. I have a friend from Austin who joins me for these forays, it's become a tradition when there is a good walking route from the hotel, and that made the venture more satisfying. After that, it was many hours inside listening and talking, until we emerged for tours or receptions. Hard work in a way, but really very wonderful.

For my office, I should be wrtiting summaries of session content to share, but there is nothing like being there to absorb the varied experiences first hand. I don't how many of you were there, so speak up, but it's the best conference I attend in a year, and I find myself looking forward to next year in Halifax already.

I'm caretaking for this week for my dad, and it's quiet here in Bay City. At least my wireless internet connection works, so I can cruise and communicate with the outside world.

Ilene
