That's a good one.

You must be thinking of Bauhaus (Gropius, Mies et al).
From "Bau", German root for words about building
(verb is "bauen", a builder is a "Bauer").

Here's another good one.  When the UIC architecture school moved
into a converted loft building that had previously been a
Formfit factory, they renamed it the Brahaus.
