No, Rudy, putting rooms in the wrong place comes from losing touch with
one's surroundings. Sometimes the site is too small to properly
consider constraints like sunlight or views. Lots of reasons, I guess.
Our bedroom faces west, but we live in a 170-year-old house, and we like
to look at the column capitals out the window. We also didn't design
it, but chose which of the seven bedrooms would be "ours." Designing
from scratch is a different ballgame... Best thing about our bedroom,
and the Parlor downstairs, is when the sunlight filters through the
170-year-old glass and makes all those lovely patterns on the walls
inside. Beautiful!
