The speaker mic plugs are 1 plug with 2 connectors, 1 for speaker, 1 for 
mic, you can plug a headphone in to them, But,  they don't have to be. I've 
wired up mics as have others to use 2 plugs, they are standard plugs if you 
do it that way, we used to do it running hand helds on packet all the time.
