Since I don't intend to sell it any time soon, I put a dymo tape label with
a dot on the 5 of the FT950 numeric pad (this also corresponds to 20 meters
when not preceded by the Enter key). I also put labels on a few other
strategically located buttons, such as the A-B swap and Split. I also added
labels to the edge of a 30-position detented switch that goes through the
menus, and to the VFO B knob, which also adjusts some menu settings. On the
950, buttons are not all of the same size, either.

Hi Kelvin

Looks an interesting and exciting rig. But only for base station use.

It is a shame about the keypad.
You didn't mention if the 5 has a marker on it?

The K3 doesn't have such an indicator, and it also has several keys very
close to it. Although this isn't an issue for entering frequencies, it can
be when swapping VFO, AGC/PRE-AMP/FILTER/ATTENUATOR settings and others.
Having said that, the filters are automatically selected as the bandpass is
set with rotary controls.

I have never come up with a top-end rig with a decent keypad.
