for an in house antenna, I have used two different options.

1. good old standard roll up j-pole hung from a nail in the wall
2. quarter wave mag mount on a steel file cabinet

If you have really high ceilings, I would use a 5/8 wave on a large metal pan or file cabinet, or even on the frij.

The 5/8 will give you adeditional gain.

For power, I use one of those jump starters. I found a 17 amp hour one on sale for $29.00 at target a couple of years ago.
Depending on the construction of your building, an ht and a 5/8 wave will get you pretty good coverage.
