Hi.
If the rest of their radios are like the TS2000S, the MCP software is a
free download, but they want you to buy the ARCP software. Personally,
myself, I feel lost if I don't have buttons to press or knobs to
twist. Feels like I'm using a computer when I use software
control. Imagine that! Anyway, all joking aside, I wish everyone else
would make even their memory control and menu setup software
controllable--it would remove most of the barriers for the Icom stuff, and
there would probably be a IC746 Pro sitting in my shack. I've always liked
Icom HF receivers--at least with the radios I've run since the IC751. In
fact, I thought the Icom IC735 was one of the best radios ever made in the
$900 price class.
