Hi, all.

I know this issue has come up several times already in different forms. In
fact, I'm the one who brought it up once when I feared that my Astron RS35
power supply was beginning to fail. So please bare with me as I raise the
question of TS590 output power again.

It seems that my TS590 is intent on only putting out about 70 watts output,
even when the power output control is set at 100 watts. In fact,
interestingly, if I use the output power meter on the TS590, the output
power reading given when I go beyond the 50 watt setting constantly sticks
at 75 watts, whether I'm at a 55 watt setting, or a 100-watt setting.
Readings are similar with my TW1.

I've done this testing with two different power supplies, and with both a
resonant antenna, and a dummy load.

I'm taking my output power readings by setting the rig to RTTY mode, and
pushing the push-to-talk button on my Heil Gold Line mic.

Am I doing something wrong here?

Is there a better way to measure output power with the TS590?

Thanks and 73 from Tom Behler: KB8TYJ
