For that $50.00, you get more than being able to record in wav or mp3.

Butch,
Please make that file conversion program available to us on SendSpace. I
searched in the past for an accessible program that would convert the weird
file type used by the Victor Reader Stream to any other file type that I
could use on my computer, but could never find one. Oh, I know for an
additional $50, Humanware will provide an adaptive program that one can use
to record in .mp3 or convert to .mp3. It just irritated me enough that I
had to shell out an additional $50 to purchase something that I felt should
have been included in the original product that I refused to purchase the
add-on. It wasn't the money; it was just the way Humanware handled it.
Other than that, I love my VRS; although, if I were to purchase such a
device today, it would probably be the BookPort Plus from APH.
