Don,
Good luck. When conditions are right, you have a very good signal
from your location. The height of the building really makes the
difference. I've worked guys from New York City trying to run wires
hanging out of windows. Not always so hot.
Be sure you get the list of county abbreviations from the party web
site. Your software is going to expect the proper 3 letter county
abbreviation for each of the 62 NY counties. Some of them are pretty
odd. There may also be a list readable within your N3FJP software,
but I'm not positive.
You can work anyone in state or out of state. In state will give you
signal report and 3 letter county abbreviation. Out of state will give
you signal report plus 2 letter US state or VE province. Other
stations will send signal report and "DX".
