Will do, Harvey.

I have been using AVG up until now, and am now looking at other
possibilities, including the addition of adwcleaner.

I took the PC to our local computer shop last week, and, after spending $80,
they informed me that they didn't have a clue as to how to resolve the
issue. Obviously, that didn't make me very pleased.

Will keep you posted.

Thanks, Tom. Let me know if you find out anything we can do to correct this
problem. I hope it is not a virus. I am using Webroot Security as my virus
protection program which up to now has been a good program but inaccessible.

Harvey:

For what it's worth, I have been having this problem too within the past
few weeks, and it is one of the things that is basically making my main home
Windows 7 PC unusable with Jaws.

The strange thing is that this happens when I'm not even in Internet
Explorer.

If I look at programs running, IE is running, and there are web sites that
periodically come up that I have never visited.

I'm taking the computer into my University's IT department to see what they
can figure out, because I'm having problems with Outlook 2010 as well.
