Eric,

I have the Kenwood V7A and although I wish the speech did a lot more
talking, I have always been able to set everything up.  Mine is not linked
to my computer but those who have it set up that way, say it is even easier
because that way everything you want to set speaks.  I really enjoy my radio
and before that I owned a very old Icom with a speech board and this newer
radio is far superior.
