Just a suggestion - if you find a decent deal on RG58x or the like 
you might do just about as well as buying previously used coax plus 
shipping.  And of course, used coax might tend to have the same 
problems you are currently dealing with.
There is the Coax Connection, Quick Silver Radio (www.usradio.com) 
and a company that Ron Milliman has recommended.  Perhaps a good deal 
along with shipping might be an option.
