Hi to all.

I was contacted by Al Goss, K2ERG who is trying to help an 80 year old
blind ham get a hf station functional again. The ham in question has a
Kenwood TS-520 and a Kenwood TS-140S at his disposal. Resonant antennas
are a problem because of the size of the yard, and a further complicating
factor is a very limited budget.

Does anyone know of reasonably inexpensive devices or circuits that can be
constructed that would allow him to tune up the '520, or some inexpensive
way of tuning up and identifying frequency on the Kenwood TS-140S?

I suspect that in spite of the 6146 finals, the TS-520 is actually going to
be easier to adapt.

Any source of tuning aids for the radio, or adapted SWR bridges (or
circuits that can be used to adapt an SWR bridge) would be greatly appreciated.

You can either contact me or contact Al at [log in to unmask]

Many thanks in advance.

73, de Lou K2LKK
