actually, I did use a Yaesu FT757 MK-II and once I learned the layout, 
it wasn't a bad radio even if you couldn't fit a board to it.
for instance, one full  turn of the VFO was 10 kc. easy enough to 
remember. and if you had your memories programmed just right, you could 
tune through all the bands you had privilages on or wanted to play on.
