Mike, I have the AL811H, which is similar to the AL811, except that it has 4
tubes instead of 3. It is a fine amp. I generally use it on 10 meters, and
I get about 500 watts out on 10.

Subject: Ameritron 811 3 tubed model

Hi all:

Anyone have any experience with this amp?
The Guy who actually owns the KW-1000 my buddy has on his bench, doesn't
want to sell it to me because he thinks my class of license, restricts me
from running an amp.
There's an Ameritron 811 in my area, a little bit more expensive but I
might kick the tires on it.
Its about 6 years old so unfortunately its not pre_MFJ but at least parts
could be gotten, unlike the 1972 built KW-1000.
