If you use a half decent vertical and at least twenty-five watts you should
have some good coverage. If I was to run a link station I'm reasonably
confident of my range so I think it would work fine. I would probably have
the station set up on an abstract frequency that people haven't really heard
of. Not to deny access to the general public but vhf and uhf is really
cluttered here in Ontario that in order not to bother others you'd have to
find something out of the way.
