Terri,

Perhaps Steve will chime in here. If you already have the MSP software
for your phone you can move it.

Currently the system is designed to work with the v 82 or as it is one
of the few phones that have both a 5 mp camera and more importantly the
xenon flash. As dealers I have talked to tell me this provides more
illumination and better ocr.

I have seen this phone as low as $509 but I forget the vendor. I will
need to google again later. If it works like the first or second
generation My recollection is that the columns issue can be handled. I
will need to go get our unit and try for sure. I will be excited if we
can get one or more of the new units later this year.

The stand-alone reader costs $1995. The reader software costs $15.01.
The reader with the cell phone is more, but I can remember what the
price was.

Frankly, the prices are steep, but I guess that's true of all adaptive
high-tech products.

I think the reader idea is great, but I'd like to be able to use the
software in any SmartPhone or PDA phone. I wouldn't want to be
restricted to Nokia and the networks that provide it. I'd like to be
able to use it in my Motorola Q.

I would also prefer reading braille to hearing speech.

I also wonder how the software compares in performance to the Kurzweil
100 software. I also wonder if a document printed in columns would
speak the text in the proper order.
