Hi All, Please forgive if this has recently been posted as don’t get chance to check this group too often. Hoping folks can share their experiences with using digital modes if any have done it.
Been interested in giving it a try and really not sure where to start. I have a TS590 and do have computers although both pc’s are not current; xp on one and win 7 on the other and both with jaws. would be fun to check out psk or rtty as have so many sighted friends who love it. I’m mostly a cw guy and have a feeling I won’t use it much as a lot are just quick exchanges, but ability to use relatively low power got my attention and worth a shot.
At one time, believe someone on this list did use it and seem to remember something about need to tune slowly and once signal was picked up, the computer would start speaking the text.
Any ideas or suggestions would really be appreciated. just wondering what software is accessible and how to go about it. obviously there is some sort of hardware needed and hoping someone could suggest what work the easiest.
Thanks in advance and hope hear you all on the air. Am mostly a 40m guy in mornings and even more enjoy 20 and 17m when bands are open, which hasn’t been much recently. Sincerely Dave W4CI
