P.S.  Be sure to fuse it.  I don't think there are any internal fuses in the 
unit .  I run all my 12 v stuff from a rig runner which has a fuse for each 
out put.   Current draw is very low, so a small amp fuse  is fine, the 
manual should tell what to fuse it at, but don't recall offhand.
