Hi Jerry,
I was looking at reviews of the Yaesu FT897D on eham and in one of the later 
pages someone pointed out that Simon Brown's commander software would work 
with that rig.

The only thing they also pointed out was that the power settings would be 
different since the Yaesu is a Qrp rig.

I've got the blurb at work somewhere.

I'll send it home and pass it along to you.
