Hi;
Having thought about my initial comment and looked at some of the replies I 
guess its not so much band conditions as the number of stations on the air. 
When I initially got my ticket back in the 70s perhaps the band conditions 
weren't so much better just more active people keying their microphones and 
of course tuning up.
