    Shaun:

I had, and tried to use a Buddipole for a number of years, and, in a nut
shell, found it rather difficult to use for a blind person. ... The tuning
for various bands is done via a combination of adjusting the whip lengths,
and putting taps at a certain number of turns in a coil. The antenna is
very difficult to tune in this way, especially when you get below 20 meters.

In short, I had problems getting it to consistently and reliably tune, after
a number of years of effort.

I tried working with the maker of the Buddipole (Budd Drummond (W3FF), and,
although he was extremely patient, he was not able to help me enough to make
the antenna system readily usable for me.

I eventually ended up selling my whole Buddipole set-up, and now am using
other more user friendly antennas for my various HF applications.

Thanks, and 73 from Tom Behler: KB8TYJ
