Ok the showstopper is determining the machine address how does one do that on an xp box?

Hi Ray,

My Vonage's router's web page address is
192.168.15.1
You have to log in and after you have completed that procedure, your 
presented with the initial setup screen.  One of the links on that page 
should be for applications.  Open that link and enter echo link as a new 
application.  You will need to know the address of your computer and you 
have to open ports 5198-5199 and 5200.

What was the procedure for that do you remember?  My thinking is that the
