Hi Gery,
I used to run a NTS net on 75 meters in Florida at 10:30 in the evening.  It 
mostly cooperated but I remember once that we had a check in from the Canal 
Zone.  He needed a phone call.  It happened to be a local call for me.  I 
run 100 watts.  73
