I don't know, you can get the data with an MRI.  Not difficult but 
expensive.
Their are a number of fascinating books by a nurologist, where he discusses 
cases and how the brain re-allocates resources.
I am drawing a blank on his name, but absolutely fascinating stories.
I got it, Oliver Sax, many of his books are on BARD and Bookshare.
