Yeah, Rich,

I've noticed the same thing.  Demographics don't lie.  The average age of 
the current ham is near 50, and there are a lot more youth chatting with 
instant messaging and SMS than would ever want to be hams.  So, as the older 
folks die off, the active number just keeps decreasing.
