    Yup, I got it, Steve. ... Thanks for the reply and for the great 
tutorial.  I listened through it in detail today, where you did indeed 
mention the jack for the memory programming cable.

I assume that the direction in which to put the cable when plugging it in is 
self evident?  In other words, I assume it will clearly go in only one way?

Someone told me that the cord on the right-angle plug faces toward the 
outside of the radio?
