Hi all,
I've been out of ham radio for a while, and finally decided to get back on
the air. I found a Yaesu ft-50r on ebay, which came with two rubber duck
antennas. The antennas are not the bnc connectors, they are the type that
you screw onto the radio. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good telescopic
antenna that would work with this radio, either by itself or with an adapter
of some kind? also, if anyone has any tips for getting to certain functions
by the keyboard with this radio that would be very helpful. I realize Yaesu
doesn't make the most accessible equipment, but it's what I could get as a
dual band handheld for a decent price.
At some point I'll be looking for a good, accessible mobile, but that's down
the road.
