Yesterday, I called Ham Radio Outlet, and ordered 2 25-foot runs of RG8X
coax with pl259's on the ends, and was shocked to learn that the price per
run is $25.95.  The guy from HRO said that coax has gone up trememdously in
price recently because of the greatly increased cost of copper.  Hmmmmmmmm.
I went ahead and processed the order anyway, but now, I'm re-thinking what I
did.

Today, I called R and L Electronics, and can get 25-foot RG8X coax runs with
pl259's on the ends for $13.95 a piece--almost half the price of the HRO
stuff.  The guy at R and L Electronics said that they have their coax runs
specially made for them, but he couldn't tell me who makes them.  He says
the coax has the name "Jet Stream" on the jacket.

Does anyone know anything about this R and L coax?

Any thoughts on why the HRO stuff might be so much more expensive?

Maybe it's a quality issue, but I'm just not sure.

I am ordering the coax runs for antenna feedlines for our travel trailer, so
it will have to withstand outdoor conditions.
