Actually, if I remember correctly, the CW DX window is 1825 to 1830 but
often extends up a little and the SSB DX windows is 1840 to 1850. But, I
could be wrong. It's been known to happen before. <GRIN>

I think you are putting too much stock in the need to burn the midnight
oil in order to have success on 160. By 10 P.M. local time Friday
night, I'd worked as far to the southwest as Mexico and Arizona, and as
far to the east as Portugal and Canary Islands.
You are a bit further west than I am, but not a tremendous amount. 160
DX from Europe can start hitting the east coast in early evening, just
a matter of being in the right place at the right time. No need to
lose your beauty sleep. While DX can pop up anywhere, check the DX
window between 1.820 and 1.825.
